In beach volleyball you play the best 2 out of 3 and each game goes to 21 except the third game which only goes to 15.  The point system is rally, which means that every play ends with one of the teams scoring a point.  You no longer have to serve to get points in volleyball.  If the ball hits the net and rolls over, it counts as a point.

Each teams gets three hits to return the ball back over the net to the other side.  If the blocker touches the ball on the block, that counts as one of the 3 hits and that teams only has 2 more hits to return the ball.  You are not allowed to set the serve in sand volleyball.  The set is much different in beach volleyball because it can't spin like an indoor set, so you are allowed to hold it for a little while longer.  The last rule difference is that you can not open hand tip the ball in beach volleyball.
